Join us at the Okanagan Military Museum for a special lecture series highlighting the events of “The Great War”. Guest speakers will tell tales of WWI history with a focus on the lesser known stories of our region.
Dr. Jim Wood is a history lecturer at UBC Okanagan and is a Captain serving in the British Columbia Dragoons of the Canadian Army Primary Reserves. His presentation offers “a broad overview of the war in 1916, including reference to the stalemate of trench warfare and some of the major offensives, such as the Somme and Verdun, that were begun in an attempt to restore mobility.”
