syilx Spotlight: Hide Tanning

Experience the syilx Spotlight at the Okanagan Heritage Museum Join Alana, our Indigenous Programming Intern, on Sunday afternoons for a fascinating, hands-on look at syilx (Okanagan) culture and traditions. Get an up-close look at objects from our collection and take part in a hands-on activity or experience!

Suitable for all ages.

MARCH 20 – APRIL 3: Hide Tanning

Learn about the traditional syilx practice of using animals skins to make beautiful tanned hide for clothing and more. This is a family-friendly, hands-on experience. Feel the furs and textures and make a craft to take home with you!
