Did you know the Okanagan is home to a small popul Did you know the Okanagan is home to a small population of wild turkeys? This handsome tom is frozen in the middle of his most important annual job: attracting a mate!

During mating season, a tom puts on quite a show: he puffs up his feathers, fans his tail, and lowers his wings to look big and impressive.

The man who shot the turkey was an avid gamebird hunter. Before his family donated the mount to the museum, it spent many years ‘greeting’ visitors in his foyer. Gobble! Gobble!

It's hard to believe we're full swing into October It's hard to believe we're full swing into October!!

Take a look at this artifact. It's a 1970s Fisher-Price school bus, complete with its wooden driver.

First introduced in 1959, the bus became a beloved classic, sparking generations of children to imagine school-day adventures beyond the classroom. It also paved the way for Fisher-Price’s iconic “Little People” collection of figures. The bus is worn on the sides, showing it was well-loved by the children who played with it.

The National Day for Truth and Reconciliation is a The National Day for Truth and Reconciliation is a direct response to Call to Action 80, one of 94 recommendations calling for a federal statutory day of commemoration. While the ongoing work of truth and reconciliation is vital year-round, September 30th serves as a crucial annual opportunity to refocus this important national conversation.

Today, September 30, join us in taking the time to reflect, to learn, and to participate in events happening around the community.
