Molas: To Honour Roberta
Molas are bright, vibrant textile panels which are incorporated onto blouses worn by the Cuna women of Panama’s San Blas Islands. Steeped in cultural tradition, molas depict the history of the Cuna people and often represent everyday life, religious myths and stories, or animals and their natural surroundings.
This travelling exhibit features 23 framed mola panels, traditional jewellery worn by Cuna women, a framed photograph of Roberta Sanbouget, and three text panels.
The cost for each exhibition is $300 per month plus travel.
