Fall Fairs and Agricultural Expos
Did you know that Kelowna used to have a purpose-built exhibition hall? Or that there used to be annual fall fairs? That Kelowna’s apples were used to help market the entire region?
Stop in to learn more about early Kelowna’s Fall Fairs and the agricultural expos that local growers attended further afield and won great recognition at. See a collection of trophies and awards won in a variety of categories and view archival photos of first-rate fruit displays.
Mammals and Insects by the Cool Arts Society
The Kelowna Museums Society is pleased to partner once again with the Cool Arts Society. Artists from Cool Arts have produced Mammals and Insects ̶ a body of work inspired by Okanagan farming and agriculture. With bright and bold impressions this exhibition acknowledges those that forage and roam the Okanagan Valley, and the important role they play. These whimsical 2D mixed media paintings and 3D exaggerated insects will put a smile on your face and help you appreciate them as we do.
Cool Arts Society is a Kelowna-based, non-profit organization that believes that everyone should have equal opportunities to express themselves through art. The organization is dedicated to providing fine art opportunities to adults living with developmental disabilities through its various classes, workshops, and special projects, all facilitated by professional artists.
