Get ready for a fascinating peek into BC's past! Get ready for a fascinating peek into BC's past!

On September 11, we're thrilled to host Maurice Guibord from the Société historique francophone de la Colombie-Britannique. He'll be sharing the incredible stories of the early Francophone ranchers who shaped the BC Interior Plateau.

While we'll dive into the lives of eight prominent families—Boucherie, Guichon, Isnardy, Lequime, Minnaberriet, Patenaude, Pigeon, and Versepuech / Gaspard—this isn't your typical history lesson. Maurice will also explore the complexities of this history, including
the colonization of Indigenous lands and how Indigenous family members navigated their place within it.

Join us for a candid and eye-opening look at this unique part of our history. We can't wait to see you there!

Second photo features Joseph, Frances, and Charles Isnardy, sons of Amédée Isnardy and Julianne Waillamalkwa, c. 1885. Courtesy of the Museum of the Cariboo Chilcotin, Williams Lake.

Central School will soon be welcoming students bac Central School will soon be welcoming students back to its classrooms. This beautiful and historic building, which cost around $75,000 to build in 1913 (that's about $2.1 million today!), is one of the few early school buildings in Kelowna that’s still used for education.
