Storytelling, Performance, and Identity: A Two-Spirit Artist talk with Madeline Terbasket

January 20 @ 1:00 pm 3:00 pm

Madeline Terbasket is reimagining traditional stories with their physical comedy, queerness and vulnerability. Grab a hot beverage, enjoy some baked goods, and gather around the proverbial fire for an afternoon of original stories, art, and community.

Madeline Terbasket is a two-spirit performing artist. They do traditional storytelling, filmmaking, burlesque and drag. Madeline is Syilx, Ho-chunk, and Anishinaabe. Their first mural stands proudly in downtown Keremeos, BC and is named “Chief Skemxist.” Madeline grew up in the Similkameen Valley and they’re excited to share their culture through imagery. Madeline started performing the art of burlesque in 2017 as Mother Girth, “the two-spirit tease.” In 2019, Madeline started doing drag on accident. They had so much fun that they brought their character Rez Daddy to stage.
