Contrary to earlier beliefs that people arrived just as a major extinction event happened around 10\,000 years ago\, we now know that they coexisted with a diverse and dangerous range of extinct animals for up to 17\,000 years! These Ice Age Peoples shared their world with massive predators much larger and more formidable than any we know today. \n\n\n\nJoin us for an upcoming talk with Dr. Robert Young who will take you back to this thrilling\, untamed era\, showcasing the extraordinary and perilous lives of the Ice age peoples. Don’t miss this chance to explore their incredible story and the challenges they faced! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDr. Robert Young is an Associate Professor in Earth\, Environmental\, and Geographical Sciences at UBCO\, where he has been contributing his expertise since 2003. He earned his BSc. and MSc. From the University of Alberta and completed his Ph.D. at the University of Calgary.  \n\n\n\nDr. Young has a passion for public education\, which is evident from his extensive work in the field. His Ph.D. research significantly contributed to the Ice Age Gallery at the Royal Alberta Museum. He has also served as a curatorial consultant for the Royal Tyrrell Museum’s Quaternary Gallery\, as well as the Okanagan Heritage Museum’s Geology Gallery.
