What’s all the buzz about?

Join us for a taste of nature with the Okanagan’s award-winning honey winery, Meadow Vista. Sample a delightful selection of local honey and other made-in-the-Okanagan bee friendly treats from the Laurel Shop. Learn some amazing facts about the orchard industry’s important little helpers, the bees, and even see a live beehive in action! Also enjoy a perfectly sweet compliment to the honey theme: Peaches! Learn fascinating facts about this fuzzy fruit and taste some local varieties.

Taste nature and ‘bee joyful’ with Meadow Vista Honey Wines

PrintKelowna Museums is proud to welcome our special guests from Meadow Vista to the August Nosh event. Meadow Vista is a modern artisan farm winery driven by passionate eco-foodies. It was born out of the idea that when you combine a passion for farm fresh ingredients, wine & protecting the honey bees. Curators of honey wine and bee-inspired food products for wine lovers and foodies to savour!

Wait, what is Honey Wine?
Honey wine, or Mead, is an alcoholic beverage made using honey. Yeast eats sugar and the bi-product is alcohol, different alcohols are made by using different sugars. Grape wines use the sugars in grape juice, Meadow Vista uses the sugars in honey to produce its honey wines. Learn more interesting information about Meadow Vista while you mingle about in the historic Laurel Packinghouse during Nosh.

Neighbourhood Nosh is a monthly event presented by Kelowna Museums as part of First Thursdays (a Cultural District initiative, learn more). This event has always been popular and we are happy to announce it has been re-invented with a fresh focus on local producers. Nosh provides you the opportunity to sample local bevies, treats, fruits and more.
